Helping Feed San Diego Families
Through the years, Toyota of Poway has been committed to supporting the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank. In collaboration with San Diego County Toyota Dealers, we are active supporters and have donated funds to the cause.
Employees of Toyota of Poway have volunteered their time at the distribution centers to prepare meal packs providing nutritious food for individuals and families in need inthe San Diego region. Members of the Toyota of Poway family contributed their time and goodwill to help our community partners at the San Diego Food Bank, the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County.
Seasonally, we have hosted food drives at the dealership by serving as a drop-off location and encouraging the Toyota of Poway team to participate in the collection food items.
Why it Matters?
The San Diego Food Bank serves 350,000 monthly:
- 39,000 are low-income military personnel and their dependents
- 10,000 are fixed-income seniors
- 76,000 live at or near the poverty level and receive assistance through our Emergency Food Assistance Program
- 2,800 are elementary school children living in poverty who receive weekend backpacks full of food through our Food 4 Kids Backpack Program in 14 San Diego County school districts.
