Poway Unified School District’s Special Olympic Games

During one day in Spring, Poway High School hosts an annual district-wide sporting event featuring athletes from Del Norte, Mt. Carmel, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Westview and Abraxas high schools. Athletes participate in a wide range of events from solo activities to group competitions in front of hundreds of cheering students, staff, and volunteers.

As a corporate sponsor, Toyota of Poway has donated bottled water and other goods to support the athletes.

Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. Athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment—on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential.
